JERRY CHUA
Senior Advisor
Prior to founding Evolve Capital, Jerry previously served as the Head of the Corporate Finance for J.P. Morgan in Southeast Asia and is a seasoned veteran with more than 18 years of experience originating and executing some of the highest-profile advisory (>US$30bn) and capital market transactions (>US15bn) in the region. Through his working career, Jerry has developed a wide and extensive network which includes family offices, private equity funds, transactions professionals, corporates and High-Net-Worth Individuals in Southeast Asia and China. Jerry was also named as one of the Top 40 under 40 professionals by Singapore Business Review in 2014. Jerry graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in finance from Singapore Management University and received the best finance graduate award in his graduating cohort.

Dato’ Dr. Denming Ho is a distinguished Franchise Consultant with over two decades of experience in business growth, franchising, and corporate transformation. As the Founder and Chief Consultant of SQV Consulting Group, he has successfully mentored and structured over 500 SMEs across various industries, guiding them from early-stage businesses to nationwide franchise chains and beyond. His outstanding achievements have earned him a place in the Malaysia Book of Records for coaching the "Most Number of SME Operators in Franchise Licensing." Beyond franchising, Dato’ Dr. Ho plays a pivotal role in preparing high-potential SMEs for Pre-IPO readiness, including private placement planning, corporate structuring, and scaling strategies to meet listing requirements. Steve Chai brings his expertise in listed equity valuations in the Asia Pacific region. He currently serves as the Fund Manager for Quarters, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles with OSK Ventures International and Hong Leong Asset Management, where he has been active since 2019. Before returning to Malaysia, Steve spent 15 years in Australia where he served as a Fund Manager for APN Funds Management Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2014.

VINCI graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2012 and completed her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2014 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 5th September 2014. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Messrs Joseph, Vinci & Leong. Vinci’s primary areas of practice are corporate law, corporate and commercial dispute resolution, employment, insolvency, debt recovery and strata management. Vinci is also a legal advisor for small medium enterprise (SME), foreign companies, trading companies, manufacturers and property management companies.

Dato Sun Teoh Tia

Dato’ Sun Teoh Tia commenced his service with the Royal Malaysia Police on January 6, 1985, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held various significant positions, including: •1986 – 2005: Served in multiple capacities within the Pengkalan Hulu Police District, Dang Wangi Police District, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) College, and CID Inspectorate Division at Bukit Aman, as well as the Police Contingent Headquarters of Perak. •2005 – 2007: Assistant Director of the Anti Money Laundering Division at Bukit Aman. •2007 – 2017: Engaged with the CID Bukit Aman and the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department at Bukit Aman. •2017 – 2019: Deputy Chief of Police Officer in Melaka. •2019 – 2020: Deputy Director of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department at Bukit Aman. Dato’ Sun retired from the Royal Malaysia Police on December 1, 2020, having attained the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Throughout his career, Dato’ Sun has demonstrated unwavering dedication to law enforcement and public safety. His extensive experience in crime prevention and community engagement has positioned him as a respected figure in both the police force and corporate governance. Following his retirement, he continues to contribute to society through his role as an independent non-executive director at Lion Industries Corporation Berhad.

Jaeryn graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B Hons) from the University of London in 2002 and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in year 2010. She was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in February 2013. Jaeryn's extensive legal expertise including civil litigation, family law, property law, banking law, probate and estate administration. Her early career at renowned law firm like Abraham Ooi & Partners and Amir Faezal Norzela & Chong saw her manage complex legal challenges with precision, particularly in commercial and corporate agreements, high-stakes business negotiation and property transactions. Her meticulous approach, combined with her strategic foresight has been instrumental in her success as a legal professional.

Choo Yuen Cheng, Alex LLB(Tasmania), CLP

Alex Choo graduated from University of Tasmania, Australia in 2005 and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice from the Legal Qualifying Board of Malaysia in August 2007. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 9 October 2008 in the High Court of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur after completing his pupilage in Messrs. Raja Daryl & Loh under Mark Yu Kee La Brooy focusing in Dispute Resolution. During his pupilage, he was exposed to a wide range of general, banking and civil litigation. Alex Choo subsequently joined Messrs. Yee How & Tan handling conveyancing and corporate matters. In September 2010, Alex Choo practiced in Messrs YC Pang, Chong & Gordon mainly in conveyancing and corporate matters which enabled him to sharpen his expertise in that area gaining vast experience and further exposure and was made a Partner in 2013. He joined Messrs. Elyne Choo & Koong in August 2016 focusing in the conveyancing department and also deals with wide range of corporate matters
